These terms cover your use of Haptco. By creating an account or using the app, you agree to them. They are written in plain language, and where something is still being finalized it is flagged.
Haptco is a rental bookkeeping app for individual landlords. It helps you track rent, late fees, and expenses; manage maintenance; post listings and receive rental applications; keep screening records with AI summaries; use an AI assistant; and produce owner statements and a Schedule E-ready summary. Haptco records money movements as bookkeeping entries — it does not collect or move money.
Haptco is free during early access. If paid plans are introduced later, early members will be offered founding pricing, and we will give notice before any charges begin.
Keep your login details secure and give accurate information. You are responsible for the activity that happens under your account.
You are responsible for the accuracy of what you enter and for having a lawful basis to collect and store information about your tenants and applicants — including obtaining an applicant’s consent before running screening. You are also responsible for following the laws that apply to you as a landlord, including fair-housing laws. Haptco is a record-keeping tool; it does not make housing or tenancy decisions for you.
Screening summaries, suggested outcomes, and assistant answers are generated automatically to help you, and they can be wrong or incomplete. They are not legal, financial, or tax advice, and they are not a consumer report or a background check. Haptco is not a consumer reporting agency.
You are responsible for verifying information and for any decision you make, including any adverse-action steps the law requires. The Schedule E summary is a bookkeeping convenience, not tax advice — confirm the figures against your own records or with a tax professional.
Do not use Haptco to break the law, to store data you have no right to store, to attempt to break or overload the service, or to access other users’ data.
Haptco is provided as is during early access, without warranties of any kind. We do not promise that it will always be available, error-free, or fit for a particular purpose. Keep your own copies of anything important to you.
To the fullest extent the law allows, Haptco and its founder are not liable for indirect or consequential losses. Total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you have paid to use Haptco, which during early access is $0.
You can stop using Haptco at any time and delete your data; email support@haptco.com to delete your account. We may suspend or end access if these terms are broken or if we stop offering the service, and we will give reasonable notice where we can.
We may update these terms. We will post changes here and update the date above, and for significant changes we will give notice. Continuing to use Haptco after a change means you accept it.
